Placing the Zoom Search Files on Your Website

Using a 3rd party FTP program like FileZilla, go to your web site and have your site and the folder on your local computer showing in the FTP side panes.

If you do not have a copy of FileZilla running on your home computer you can go to the gotFusion tutorial on how to set up FileZilla which has download link for this free FTP program

On your Domain, create a folder called siteSearch to hold the Zoom files and upload all of the files to your web site within this newly created siteSearch folder

You should now have all of the files you need on your web site within the siteSearch folder you created

You now want to rename the site search template on your web site folder from what you saved it as and back to search_template.html so that Zoom will find it and use it. You may also want to upload another copy of your modified search template (the one with the different name) just in case you accidentally overwrite the search_template.html file with a new one that Zoom creates. That way should you accidentally overwrite your modified template, you can rename the "spare" and not need to open the Zoom created one in notepad again

Inserting the Zoom template within Fusion

Open your web site project in NetObjects Fusion

Create a page in your project to hold the Zoom search page, DO NOT use the same name you used when you created the folder with your FTP program, use Search or search_page not siteSearch as that folder holds the Zoom files

Go to the page you created in Fusion and draw a text box or single celled table on your newly created page

Double click within the text box or cell and while holding the control key on your keyboard press the T key to bring up the HTML insert dialog box

We will call in the Zoom search template using either PHP or ASP. You selected PHP or ASP when you first had Zoom index your web site pages.

Inserting an ASP include Statement

If you are using ASP insert this line of code within the Fusion HTML insert dialog box. Change "yourDomain.ext" to the actual name and extension of YOUR domain

ASP inclucde statement

Once you have the ASP include statement in the html insert dialog box press OK to close the box. You will see the HTML insert icon where you placed the ASP include statement. The code will be executed when you go to the page on your web site.

Inserting a PHP include Statement

If you are using PHP insert this line of code within the Fusion HTML insert dialog box. Change "yourDomain.ext" to the actual name and extension of YOUR domain

PHP include statement

Once you have the PHP include statement in the html insert dialog box press OK to close the box. You will see the HTML insert icon where you placed the ASP include statement. The code will be executed when you go to the page on your web site.

You must rename the page with the inserted code to have an extension of either ASP or PHP (which ever you have selected) in order to have the include statement called

This gotFusion tutorial will explain where you rename page extensions on a single page

Do a full remote publish and the page you just made will be uploaded to your website along with the rest of your pages that will be updated with the search page

If you are using the Fusion Nav Bar component in the standard configuration (not a custom nav bar) then you should see the site search page on your Fusion menu. If you are using a custom nav bar you will need to add the search page to your menu manually before doing your full remote publish

This is the Zoom site search page on the gotFusion site
