Sign Up For A Mals-E Account
The first thing you need to do is to get an account with Mals-E so that you can user their service to take payments for goods sold. Mals-E offers free and premium level accounts. This tutorial can be used for either type of account with them.
You must sign up for an account on the Mals-E web site. Once you have an account you will need to know your account number. You can find this when you log into your Mals-E account
Mals-E does not process credit cards directly. They work as an intermediary to send the necessary information to your merchant processor. This is a list of merchant processors supported by Mals-E. If you have a paypal account you can use your existing paypal account to have Mals-E accept credit cards without the purchaser having a paypal account. You will have to select and set up a cart payment method within your Mals-E account.
Using The Fusion Mals-E Component
Create a new page to hold your store
From the Advanced Tools folder under the Custom Components tool bar, select the e-commerce component and draw a rectangle on your page where you want your items to appear.
You will need to give your new store a unique name. From the Store drop down box select Add Store Engine
On the Store Engine Sign Up palette select Mals-E from the list of store engines and enter your username / password for your Mals-E account. If you have not already signed up for an account from the links at the beginning of this tutorial you can click on the Sign up for new account button
Click the OK button at the bottom of the Store Engine Sign up palette and you are all set to start selling
Once you enter your Mals-E username and password into this palette and press OK, Fusion will automatically create all of the proper coding required for you to use this service to handle all sales on your web site.
Continue on to the next part of the tutorial where you will create your store and add your merchandise
