NetObjects Fusion 7 and 7.5
Simply delete the brackets as outlined in the image below, or use any characters from your keyboard instead of brackets.
NetObjects Fusion 5 and MX
Option 1: Delete the existing text navbar and type your own without brackets, then link accordingly.
Option 2: Go to style view, click the text tab, set the colour of the brackets to the same colour as the background, making the brackets invisible.
