Question:

How do I set up hosting plans/packages for resale?


Answer:

As a reseller you will have to set up hosting plans/packages for your users.

To create a hosting package:

  1. Login to your Helm Reseller account http://helm.gothosting.biz 
  2. Click on the Hosting Plans Icon
  3. Click the Add New Button in the lower right
  4. Enter a Name for your new hosting plan
  5. If you wish to charge a Set Up Fee for new accounts enter the amount
  6. Enter the amount you wish to charge for this hosting package
  7. From the drop down select the billing cycle time frame
  8. Click the Save Button in the lower right

Once you have a hosting plan defined you will need to set the Server Resources you wish to allot for this hosting plan:

  1. From the list of hosting plans, click on the Name of the Hosting Plan
  2. Click on the Resource Limits Icon
  3. Enter the Number of Domains that you will provide with this hosting plan
  4. Enter the Total Bandwidth you wish this hosting plan to come with
  5. Enter the Total Disk Space you will provide with this hosting plan
  6. Enter the Number of Domain Alias you wish to provide with this hosting plan
  7. Click the Save Button in the lower right

After setting the server resources scroll down and click on the Web Resources Icon to allot the amount of web resources for this hosting plan

  1. Enter the web resources you wish to provide with this hosting plan.  This includes the number of ODBC connections, databases, sub domains, dynamic languages custom error page enabling, SSL, etc.
  2. When you are finished click on the Save Button

When you have finished setting up the web resources return to the Plan Resources page by clicking on it in the bread crumb navigation bar.  Then click on the Email Resources Icon.

  1. Click the Enable Mail Resources check box
  2. Enter the Number of Email addresses you wish to allot for this hosting plan
  3. Enter the Number of Email Alias, Multi-Recipient Addresses, and their size limit
  4. Click the Save Button in the lower right

When you have finished setting up the email resources return to the Plan Resources page by clicking on it in the bread crumb navigation bar. Scroll down and click on the FTP Resources Icon

  1. If you wish to allow this hosting package to have additional custom FTP access put a check in the Enable FTP Resources check box
  2. Enter the Number of FTP accounts you wish to allot for this hosting package
  3. Press the Save Button in the lower right

When you have finished setting up the ftp resources return to the Plan Resources page by clicking on it in the bread crumb navigation bar.  Click on the DNS Resources Icon

  1. If you are going to provide databases for this hosting package place a check in the Enable DNS Resource box
  2. Select Enabled in the DNS Zone Editor drop down box
  3. Click on the Save Button in the lower right

When you have finished setting up the dns resources return to the Plan Resources page by clicking on it in the bread crumb navigation bar. Click on the Statistics Resources Icon

  1. If you wish to provide statistics for this hosting package place a check in the Enable Statistics Resource check box
  2. Enter the Number of AWStats Instillations you wish to offer with this hosting package
  3. Enter the Number of SmarterStats Installations you wish to offer with this hosting package
  4. Click the Save Button in the lower right

When you have finished setting up the statistics resources return to the Plan Resources page by clicking on it in the bread crumb navigation bar. Click on the Database Resources Icon

  1. If you wish to offer databases with this hosting package put a check in the Enable Database Resource box
  2. Enter the Number of MySQL 4 databases you wish to offer with this hosting package
  3. Enter the Number of MySQL 5 databases you wish to offer with this hosting package
  4. Enter the Maximum Number of Database Users you wish to offer with this hosting package
  5. Press the Save Button in the lower right

You have now completed the package set up and you can start selling this hosting plan
